Jonathan Blake LLC, doing business as "The Lead Venture", operates Midwest Roof Calculators ("Company," "we," "us" or "our") and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you visit midwestroofcalculators.com or take part in our text-message program.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you choose to send a request, we collect what you type in:

• your name, and your email and/or phone number;
• your property ZIP code;
• optionally, a street address, company and role, your timing and a message;
• the tool summary shown to you before you send;
• photos, if you attach any (when photo uploads are turned on);
• the permission boxes you check or leave unchecked.

Information collected automatically

• Tool logs. When you run some calculators, we log the inputs and results with no name, email, phone number or street address. ZIP codes are cut to three digits.
• Abuse prevention. We store a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) and your browser's user-agent with each request.
• Roof storm check. When you enter a ZIP code in the storm check, our server looks up that ZIP's approximate location with Zippopotam.us and requests public weather data for that location from Open-Meteo and the National Weather Service. We keep the weather result for that ZIP for a few hours so repeat checks load faster. We do not link the ZIP to your name or contact details unless you then send a request.
• Quick polls. When you answer a poll we store your answer, a one-way hash of a random ID kept in your browser (so you can change your answer and each browser counts once), and a salted one-way hash of your network address (to limit how many votes one connection can add). We do not store your name, contact details or IP address with a vote, and results are shown only as totals.
• Shared quote data (optional). If you check the sharing box on the quote comparison tool, we receive the ZIP code, roof size, scope choices, quote amounts, quote month and outcome you entered, with a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention. We do not receive names, contact details, contractor names or addresses. We review it and only publish anonymous group statistics. You can update or delete it from the same device, or email us.
• Hosting logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to block bots and attacks.

3. How we use information

• To respond to your request by the method you chose.
• To send text messages, but only if you gave text-message consent (see section 4).
• To keep a record of the permissions you gave: the exact wording you saw (version 2026-09-28.2), your choice and the time.
• To prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
• To fix and improve our tools, using the tool logs without contact details.
• To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Text messages (SMS)

Our request form has two separate, optional text-message boxes. Both start unchecked, and you can send a request without them:

• Request updates: texts about the request you sent, such as follow-up questions, scheduling and appointment reminders.
• Marketing: seasonal roof and exterior tips and offers from Midwest Roof Calculators.

Our contact permission covers email and phone calls only. It does not cover texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. Full program terms are in our SMS terms.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers who help us run the messaging service, such as our messaging platform and customer support tools, only so they can do that work. All other sharing described in this policy excludes text-messaging opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with, sold or rented to any third party.

5. How we share information

• Service providers who process data for us under contract and only for our purposes:
  • Cloudflare, for website hosting, the database and file storage;
  • GoHighLevel, for customer-relationship management, email and text messaging, once it is connected.
• A contractor, only with your permission. If you check the optional partner-sharing box, we share your name, email, phone number, ZIP code and project details with the independent Ohio and Michigan roofing and exterior contractor that our founder works for, only so they can contact you by email or phone call about that request. They may not use it for other marketing. We may receive a referral or lead fee if they do work for you (see our disclosures). We never share your text-message consent or opt-in data with a contractor. Without that box checked, we share nothing with any contractor.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information when the law or a valid legal process requires it, or to protect people, property or our rights.
• Business transfer. If the business is sold or merged, this policy continues to apply to the information transferred. Text-message consent is never transferred for another company's marketing.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Calls and texts (TCPA)

We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. We only use autodialed or prerecorded calls or texts for marketing if we have your prior express written consent. We honor the National Do Not Call Registry and our own internal do-not-call list. You can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP, telling us on a call, or emailing privacy@midwestroofcalculators.com.

7. Email (CAN-SPAM)

We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every marketing email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link and our mailing address, and we don't use misleading subject lines. We honor unsubscribe requests within the time the law requires.

8. How long we keep it

• Requests: up to 24 months after they are submitted.
• Photos: up to 12 months.
• Tool logs: up to 12 months.
• Consent and opt-out records: as long as we need them to show what you agreed to or opted out of. This can be longer than the request itself.

We keep information longer if the law requires it.

9. Security

Requests are stored in a private database and photos in private storage, never on public web pages. Admin access is password-protected, IP addresses are stored only as hashes, and all traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as Social Security, bank or insurance policy numbers.

10. Your choices and privacy rights

• Stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
• Stop emails by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
• Ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw any permission, by emailing privacy@midwestroofcalculators.com. We'll confirm your identity and answer within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to have it deleted, to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We extend these rights to every user, wherever they live.

11. Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Public records

Our research pages use public permit records in aggregate only. We do not publish addresses or individual permit records, and we do not use them to contact property owners.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we'll ask for your consent where the law requires it.
